Sunday Slope
Mark Miller: Paul L. and I decided to go to Fults today. Wind direction was perfect and speed was outstanding. Paul flew his P-51 Strega. 75 ounces of PSS pleasure. I brought my old home brew foamie wing. It looks like your basic wing but uses the airfoils from the JW. Carbon spar makes it really stiff. After provomg that after a broken heel and little to no excersise and resultant weight gain has hit me hard by huffing and puffing my way up the hill. Paul launched first and was ripping things up with 3 buzzards that were flying the ridge. I launched next and saw I needed weight in a big way. Paul lent me his 12 ounce block and I still could not get it out off the hill. He threw the wing for me and I was able to get it out and trimmed. I was pleased with how it flew fast and penetrated the wind. I decided to make a close in pass low from altitude and misjudged a turn and eneded up in a tree. It's still there. I'm hoping Mother Nature will take pity on me and get it down for me.
I enjoyed every second of the time there and can't wait to get back there. With a little less wind and a ballasted Soprano it can easily give up a 4 hour LSF slope flight. I'm waiting. I have some photos of paul and the surroundings and I took some video of Paul flying. I'll post them a little later.

Paul Luebke: With the exception of the heat is was nearly perfect for slope flying at Fults today. I was surprised how well Mark's wing flew once we got enough weight on her and Mark got her trimmed and in the groove.
