2020 New Years Day Pilots
Bob Gill was flying a Radian XL, Bill Coalson a 2M Radian, Robert and I were flying 3.7M e-Aspires, Jeff Brundt had a x-UAV Sky Surfer, and Jan had an old school Davey-Systems Lucifer 2M electric. Duane was flying his Go-Mini 1M dlg, Dave was walking his dog and not flying due to his sprained ankle, and I don’t think Larry was flying but I may have missed it.

Hi fliers,

The 2020 flying season was kicked off splendedly today with ten members present (counting
Dave’s pooch as a family member.) In deference to a long drive to Foley the gang all convened
at the main field on the last strip of remaining old grass left unharvested.

The order of the day was electrics and despite some stiff breezes there was a gaggle of
Radians that did pretty well. Robert and I brought out our e-Aspires and found plenty of lift. The
most impressive honors went to Jan with his Davey Systems Lucifer which handled the wind
very well for an old school 80s electric. I expect Jan will do well in 2M this year with it.

It was one of our better New Year’s outings in a long time. I still remember flying in a sleet storm
one year just to be able to claim bragging rights for flying on Jan 01. Today was a lot more fun!

Woe to those not present. You really should have been there. ??

See you again for the Jan mtg,

Wayne
