Hi Flyers: Today was a wonderful day at the field. There were 6-8 of us out there.  Some guys who I have not seen for a while.  Fast Eddie R., Steady Bob W., Rich R., Larry A., John H., Bob G., me and probably others I can’t remember.

There was plenty of wind to keep us all entertained. Lift was on a fast track over the field. I was using my 8-ounce ballast however I wanted more.  When I tried to use both ballast bars together, I found they wouldn’t fit due to how I had installed the receiver. It is things like this that are found when practicing in “not perfect” conditions.

For entertainment we had John H. flying acrobatic maneuvers and keeping us on our toes wondering if he had control. Turns out that he did. There was one mid-air that was not bad but I’m glad it was not me this time. There were several excursions [off the field]. Not me today but I was in there yesterday and it was not fun.

I had a wonderful time flying today.  I think a lot of guys did also.

You should have been there.  I’m glad I was.

“No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful.”

To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?
